At the end of last semester Ms. Kramer sent out an email
outlining the new game plan for ELP Choice this semester. We just wanted
to remind you of how ELP Choice will work this semester since it will begin on
Tuesday January 26th and run through the rest of the semester.
I have also attached a copy of the ELP Choice flyer that we will be sending to
all students next week which contains more in-depth information on the program.
1. ELP Choice will occur
every Tuesday and Wednesday this semester. Thursdays and Fridays will
retain the traditional ELP format (no early release)
2. Students with a “D” or
“F” in scholarship will remain in their ELP class on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
3. Students with an “A,”
“B,” or “C” will report to their ELP class on Tuesday and Wednesday and
may choose to do one of the following after the bulletin ends:
a. Stay in their ELP class
and study or provide tutoring assistance to Mandatory ELP students (provided
the teacher has given permission). If this choice is made, ELP Choice
students must stay in class until the end of ELP.
b. Go to the library to
study quietly to improve their grades in other classes or do research
c.
Enjoy an extended lunch period in designated ELP Choice lunch
areas (ELP Choice Students may not congregate near classrooms in order to
maintain a quiet tutorial environment); they need to stay west of the ASB
d. Please note that
students in ELP classes with substitute teachers will not have choice that day.
e. Finally, ultimate
authority for releasing students during ELP Choice rests with the teacher and
the teacher has the right to suspend ELP Choice for their A, B. and C
students at their discretion.
